Hmm, so today i worked with a bit of horror and this came to me

What if we make the Batman into a cryptid but the cooler kind, the leyend to scare young kids type

This came from me thinking about La llorona, a leyend (scary one) here in México and some other parts of latam it seems(?) and it's in short, about a woman whose kids die and she dies from sadness over it, with her eyes drying up from so much crying, becoming a spirit that haunts the world while calling for her children in desperate screams

The reason behind the kids' death changes depending on who you ask, either she killed them or it was an accident, but they die by drowing in all versions, and, as a result of the above, any kid she comes across gets taken away because she mistakes them for her own, they end up dying by her hands too tho (because she thinks they're hers and drowns them, or because she realizes they aren't)

She's also a single mother (the story goes back to the 1500 btw)

And I think Bruce fits this. So. Fucking. Well.

Like, Jason and Dick die, and he becomes this, and then Tim was trying to help him pass from the world but he couldn't and instead became his child too, and the rest followed along, by accident, by choice or not

Can he be a hero here? I don't think so, but, maybe he does care for the children somehow, the ones that he realizes aren't his, that they have parents to go to are the ones he protects

He cares for the people, who are not at fault for his loss, so he protects the city he also haunts

He cares for the nice old man who's never been afraid of him, who gives him a sad smile and who he feels like he knows but all the memories of his life are buried down and forgotten behind his children dying

He might not even want the children he takes to die, it's like the pit rage in canon, it takes over him and they world gets too blurry to think right

And he cares for those kids, he really does, it's not their fault, but there's one he can never remember the name of (Dick) no matter how many times he repeats it

Dick forgave his dad (whatever the reason for their deaths might be) and wanders around him in a nice way, doing his best so all of them can finally pass away

Jason hasn't. He haunts Bruce, most of the episodes where he snatches more kids away are Jason's fault, as he appears and dissapears in front of him, making him believe any kid is his boy, Jason doesn't notice and actually tries to protect other kids.

Cass was wandering around town alone, she didn't stand a chance because she couldn't even scream for help. She's like a second shadow to Bruce, always near, always watching, and some who have scaped them swear her eyes never stop looking at you. She might be the only kid who's not mad at him for taking her away

Duke is similar enough, he didn't like the dark, but when there's no other choice is the worst thing that happens.

Damian's tale as a child of his that Bruce originally thought to have died gets worse when he gets taken, reunited but only by death, one that is his dad's fault.

I watched Only Friends... and It Was Definitely An Experience! **SPOILERS**

I knew going into it that SandRay was the most popular Only Friends couple, at least that's what it seems like based on how many posts/edits there are about them over all of the internet, but it's so rightfully deserved!!!

I couldn't care less about TopMew, they were just pretty boring to me and I did not like Top at all. Mew was alright, though I will say I loved his petty revenge arc. BostonNick I thought was doomed from the start so I kinda made myself not get too into them? Nick is a sweetheart while also being a conniving little spy so I thought he was pretty fun and liked him a lot but, like Top, I hated Boston (basic of me, I know). But SandRay??? Loved every second! I think Ray is such an interesting character with so many layers and it's so fun to explore his life, and I absolutely fell in love with Sand. I love everything about him and he deserves nothing but to be able to attend all the music festivals in the world. Also quick shout out to Sand & Nick's friendship, it's so refreshing in this messy tree of relationships lol.

It's crazy to me that some people didn't enjoy SandRay as much, but some complaints I've seen are pretty valid tbh. I've seen people complain that the only reason people loved them so much more than the other couples is because they had the most screentime, and that's fair, but they also had the most to cover with their stories: both individually and together. I know this is fully on the writers, I've also seen people complain about SandRay being way more developed than the other characters. These complaints are extremely valid I feel, and I honestly believe they would've been better off doing either a show made up of three short series focusing on one pairing at a time or a show focusing on SandRay as the main couple (they have enough to their stories/story that alone it could take up a whole 12 episodes easily) with BostonNick and TopMew as sides with the possibility of getting their own series after (kinda like UWMA with BU even tho I know it's a different company). Either way, we got what we got with SandRay, and I, for one, enjoyed it thoroughly! I personally don't really understand what's not to like about their relationship, I thought it was at least mostly realistic and they suit each other so well it's insane.

Back to my complaints, I really hated the pool scene with Sand, Ray, and Boeing. Like, really hated it. Also the fact that Ray tried to say Sand was still in love with Boeing after the huge difference b/t the two kisses... was insane. I also disliked the scene with Ray and the therapist because no matter how sweet and also heartbreaking it is the second-hand embarrassment is the actual worst.

Now onto what I enjoyed: obv SandRay and Sand & Nick's friendship since I already mentioned those. I also enjoyed the way all the characters were connected in different ways, it was so much fun to untangle all the relationships! I like the way the show tackled alcoholism and made it realistic, as well as the way it tackled betrayal within the friend group (looking at you, 'Ton) in a realistic way.

Now, I have to mention the acting and chemistry between the couples. ForceBook was meh to me. This is the first thing I've seen them in it and they didn't really blow me away with their chemistry but I did enjoy their acting! I do think this is because I didn't really like the couple, so I'm not really holding it against them and I do plan to watch A Boss and A Babe at some point. NeoMark was very good! Both the chemistry and the acting. Neo has never been my favorite actor, (sorry if this is controversial) I like him fine but he never really blew me out of the water, he's just always done good, but this series he was insane! He played Boston so well he made most people hate him and that's always impressive when it's done by such a well-liked actor. I knew Mark was gonna kill it and he did. I love Mark. The chemistry b/t these two was surprising but enjoyable (speaking purely on what I saw as someone who skips through most saucy scenes). Now... FirstKhao. I expected everything from them and I got everything. I 1000% know that they are joining OffGun and GemFourth as one of my favorite pairings ever (who am I kidding they did that after I watched The Eclipse). Just the pure talent these two have is unreal and the chemistry is off the charts. The fight scenes broke me and the bonding scenes made me feel butterflies, just everything about them is perfection. Also wanna make a special comment on First b/c he has climbed my ranks as one of my favorite actors ever extremely quickly but I mostly see people talk about Khao, (which is so valid; man is insane as well, I just prefer First for whatever reason), but the way First plays all of his characters is so hypnotizing to me. Like the emotions he portrays and the way he completely transforms into his characters with his body language just impresses me so much. I'm def rambling now so it's time to wrap this up!

Anyways, putting aside others' complaints over the best couple SandRay, as well as my own complaints and compliments, I think overall it's a really good show and the drama is fun! So so messy but since it's all fiction it's fun to get sucked into! I'd tell anyone to give it a try at least!

Also wanna end this by saying if you disagree with me on any of this that's totally okay! All opinions are valid! Plus, I went into this with extreme actor bias towards FirstKhao (esp First), so that definitely tied towards my instant love for SandRay.

Alrighty, I just got to the point of Chapter 13 after they talked to Luke and BOY DO I HAVE THOUGHTS. So , can we talk about how straight up unserious Percy is ? Like you NOTICE that this is a kid. Buddy is out on a mission to basically save the world, going around telling Medusa he and his friends are orphans having been left behind by a circus and sightseeing XD Say what you want but that kid is funny af. Love that for him. The whole Medusa thing was CREPPY tho, like- Grover fr just found what basically is his dead uncle's corpse ???????? That's honestly fucked up. (The Uncle Ferdinand jokes were funny as hell tho) I do hold firm onto the believethat the gods are sort of dicks tho. Like, honestly ? I'm surprised there wasn't a half blood revolution yet ! Those poor children are treated HORRIBLY by their parents ! Not to mention that they also gotta deal with all sorts of monsters just because they are the kids of that one specific god. Ngl if I was a demigod I'd be ready to straight up overthrow the gods. Or atleast sue them for all the child neglect they did. Like, damn there seems to be little to no resentment against the gods on the side of the kids besides Percy. How'd that happen ? Does Camp Halfblood just have really good therapists to deal with all that trauma and to keep the kids from going , idk, crazy ? Or do they just flood them with propaganda ???? Idk, just seems a bit weird to me how everyone seems to like the gods when so far most couldn't care less so far OR are doing the bare minimum. The only thing more surprising to me than the fact that no one hates the gods, is how surprisingly well I can get on with the first-person POV ? Like, I JUST realized that. It's just THAT good. Normally I don't rly like first-person , but honestly this is the biggest expection so far ! Percy's POV is just hilarious. Kinda nervous about his dreams tho, idk what to make of them.......... But also, OMFG GROVER WAS THE GUY WHO BROUGHT ANNABETH. Damn does every character have trauma here ? Poor lad. On the topic of Grover tho, that whole backstory with Pan gives me BIG tingels for my traitor theories. When he went on his little rant about humanity and how they ruined nature, he very clearly called Percy human. He sees Percy as part of a group he seemingly dislikes to atleast some degree.

Grover also has a sort of legacy he thinks he needs to fullfill ? With many (if not all) members of his family having been seekers. Like, what if Pan IS actually dead ? Or atleast in the underworld, and that is why no seeker has ever returned ? Maybe Hades manages to get Grover to betray Percy by offering him Pan ? It is Grover's dream while also being very important to his entier species. It looks like a good motivation for me. Otherwise I rly like the backstory for Grover we have so far. The author did a great job in fleshing him out tbh. He really went from a droky comic-relieve sort of guy to something..... honestly depressing. I really wonder what happened to Pan. But I do think he's most likely dead or somewhere in the underworld, with Hades being the big bad it would think. ANNABETH GOT A HINT TOO THO, during the Luke talk he did mention that you'd have to be invisible to get the Master Bolt. And the Athena Cabin already picked the side against Poseidon when the camp started to splitt. The motivation for her would still stay the same ofcourse, her godly parent. Personally I do still favor Annabeth as traitor, but it could simply be that I just had the theory about her for longer. Honestly both have solid bases for it and I'd be interesting either way. I'm about halfway done now, so I doubt a thrid character will be introduced now to be the traitor. If a new character IS introduced tho, they'd props be the prime suspect for me. But also, thank you Luke for being one of the MOST reliable character in the story so far. Anytime you show off smth good happens for me (either entertainment or more hints for my theory). BUT ALSO HIM CALLING ANNABETH HIS LITTLE SISTER ? ALKQOPÜREINA THAT'S SO CUTE LIKE ????? ugh ngl now I sort of hope it ISN'T Annabeth bc her betraying them would BREAK Luke's heart T-T. I love the idea of the two of them using insanity to overcome some resonance issues like the Maka crona fight 👀 may i possibly even suggest that in aftermath, ford possibly still reeling from the adrenaline and insanity kisses stan and stan (who's grappling with guilt for his feelings-NEEDS to just happy to have his brother back, he's selfish for wanting more) both has to shove it aside for the sake of taking care of ford in this moment but also blaming it on the black bloods influence- ford could never want him that way.....right.... 👀 miscommunication kings of new jersey fr

But also i was thinking like them being kids and switching off! Up until they didnt...of course stan and fords different devotions!! but i was thinking like maybe fords weapon form is a chain scythe vs stan the standard (haha) scythe? And stan thinks fords form is cool as hell!! And maybe ford at first finds solace in his weapon form- people cant stare at his hands now! But maybe the bullies just mock him for still being different "cant even manage to be a normal weapon! freak!" Type of way. So he transforms less and less despite stans desperate attempts to tell him he's cool as hell, but he could never say no to Ford's asking, just promises himself he'll become the sharpest blade for ford

I know i throw around the term death scythe alot but i dont think either stans would be a tradition scythe tbh. I havent quite settled on what they would be tho. Also the soul eater world is just weird enough that i dont think Fords six fingers would get much notice tbh. (not to say he couldn't still get bullied about them ya know. just that it's not something i would focus on tbh) Maybe as kids cause children are stupid but like even the teens of the soul eater verse are out there fighting for their lives so i dont think theyd care.

Maybe ford could be a cursed weapon like tsubaki but i really like the idea of him as stans miester tbh. But with them switching off and then suddenly not anymore: i think itd stem from his desire to be seen as separate from stan, like with the whole being twins then also being twin weapons... he'd slowly pull away. the only reason he doesnt stop using stan as his weapon entirely is cause he couldnt stand the idea of fully parting with stan/someone other that him using stan.

Regardless, stan would absolutely devote himself to becoming the best weapon Ford could ever ask for (and be entirely torn up to realize ford partnered with someone else in stans absence)

as for the other part I love that idea so much!!! I love a bit of miscom and yeah theyre the kings of it. Ford kissing stan mid insanity?!?!? Stan kissing him back with just as much if not more fervor?!?!? Theyre just covered in black blood gripping and cradling each other on the floor and full blown making out!! I dont think either of them would even realize/process what happened until way later when they're safe and the adrenaline has faded. And they wouldn't talk about it cause then'd they have to talk about all their other problems. And those two idiots have yet to have a proper convo about anything since they reunited.

And both of them think the kiss only happened because of the insanity. Like sure that might be what ignited it but the desire was always there. But yea they both believe that's the only reason the kiss was reciprocated.

Stan would definitely beat himself up over it because he was the one who was more sane in the moment (even though the were both affected ntm ford kissed him first.) I love the idea of stan patching ford up after their fight. Cause usually Ford is a meticulous fighter but under the effects of black blood? all that methodical-ness is throw out the window. And stan (both of them really) just playing that kiss on repeat while stan wraps fords wounds.

I just love the black blood scenes with maka and soul so much and imagining those with the stans is just *chefs kiss, mind explosion*

Ya know that scene where soul shields maka with his body? I just know that stan would have that kind of devotion to ford, even after all the years that have passed!!

And i know ford is happy to have his brother back too even if he's shitty at showing it. (It's not his fault guys, he's literally going insane)

Your respond made me question if those “fans” will ever accept Sam’s new partner that is not Katrina (or Colby lol). The way i see it even Malia was more welcomed than Katelyn (although both of them had a cold start). I think nowadays i see more people loving Malia and actually accepting her, than hating on her. Thing that I fear Kateyn would not be ale to achieve if she stayed. And my only reason for that it’s because people felt too attached to Katrina, even people who supposedly “hated her” or claimed she is “using Sam” got used to her just being there and being Sam’s gf that i fear they will never let that go (especially that if i am not wrong Katrina is still single) and every other Sam’s new gf will be compared to Katrina and hated by the fandom, because for them “Katrina and Sam are clearly MADE for each other 😣”. I mean some people still act like she is Sam’s gf or like she is meant to come back, because “it’s her place”. So in that matter i kinda pity Sam.

the sam and kat thing is very odd to me, especially when you see fans say "he'll never do better than her". first and foremost, i get being upset that they ended, sure. but saying that sounds gross to me for some reason. like i think you can lift up kat and say she's gonna have a good life without him and will eventually find love without saying that he somehow is never gonna be happy again. that type of behavior and thought process is so childish. it's not like he was abusive, he broke up with her bc he just couldn't marry her and making her wait even longer would have been worse for their relationship.

while it's clear they aren't on the best of terms anymore, i think hating him (or her, bc god knows she gets hate too) is just weird. you don't have to hate either of them. their relationship didn't end in flames or bc they hate each other. you don't have to make it a versus all the time. there is no winner in this outcome.

as for katelyn and malia… the issue is messy. personally, i think both girls got the short end of the stick. they both got a crazy amount of hate (and malia still does) and i expected part of that to happen eventually when colby got a gf, but i think bc kat wasn't with sam anymore, it became like a shit storm instantly since it wasn't just colby getting a gf.

katelyn had so many lies spread about her in relation to kat it's not even funny. ppl were claiming they were friends before and thus she took sam from her (not true at all. they did possibly follow one another before hand, but their only connection was tess, who wasn't exactly bffls with kat). ppl claimed katelyn talked badly about kat, even tho all the clips i've seen have been not even remotely noteworthy, let alone something to throw hate at her for. i kinda think the reason why katelyn got a lot of hate is bc, as i've said countless times before on here, this fandom has an inability to critique sam. they will do everything in their power to not give him hell even tho they do it all the time to colby. so i weirdly think that bc this fandom couldn't be mad at sam for moving on too quickly from kat or for seemingly """replacing""" her, they chose katelyn to take their anger out on. but even that eventually wore itself thin and for the first time, i actually saw ppl genuinely hate on sam the same way they do colby. which was both refreshing and depressing all at the same time lol

i also think katelyn is just weird enough to be annoying to a lot of ppl, and bc of that, immediately she sucks. i obviously don't feel that way about her, but i can get why some wouldn't love her. in addition, i think she tried a bit too hard to be liked in this fandom and that drove ppl nuts. and she introduced colby to malia, which means she was public enemy #1 for a lot ppl. i mean, i literally heard someone full on dox her during a space on twitter and then call her a whore just bc she's dating sam. while the fandom wasn't in love with kat the moment they met her, they never went this far.

as for malia, i've seen some truly heinous shit said about her. like i'm talking fake dms with nudes (that obviously weren't hers), cheating allegations, fans making fun of her filler and boob job, fans calling her a whore and a slut for merely wanting to show off her body, she has no personality (even tho we've never even heard her speak so…. explain how you just know that), colby chose her over shea (which is just not true at all), the list goes on and on. i think the hate for her has calmed down a lot bc i think 1, she never tries to talk to fans except the occasional reply on a TikTok comment. i honestly think her not trying to befriend the fandom has worked out for her a lot more than katelyn's attempt at being our bestie. and 2, i think that bc colby shows her off (in a way that sam never did katelyn) we can see that colby is happy with malia. unless you're a hater; then bc they pose too much in pictures or *checks notes* never smile with one another that means they are faking it.

i do feel for sam, in a way, too. the thing is, i think out of the two of them, sam is the one that will speak up against the fandom, and he needs to do that. he needs to tell fans to chill the fuck out when it comes to his future significant others. like we cannot have a repeat next time he dates someone. it's just not gonna work out. but i also feel as if snc aren't gonna do that. i love them dearly, and idk who is in their ear telling them to do this (whether it be management or themselves) but them not sticking up for themselves or their gfs rubs me the wrong way. bc that's how you get a fandom like this that thinks hating on their gfs/themselves for a year straight is somehow okay. and god knows if i was dating one of them long term and they were just telling me to ignore the hate or not use an entire social media platform bc that's were a majority the hate was on… i would be going nuclear lol

more mer au! today's the talk is about spiderbit's first meet and some other stuff + there's another picture with cave layout

okay, so, !cellbit (and richas, but like partially because, yknow, other parents) lives in a small house on a a hill that's just as small tbh; it's like an hour on motorbike to a big city (tho theres already some houses around, but his house is pretty seperate from those es well. i also think his house is also surrounded by small forest) and 15 min on foot to a closest beach (this beach is like. imagine really non-tourist-ey beach. like, very much the beach for the locals). Despite living near a what considered a Very Big Sea (and it's very known around as the place where a lot of mers live), because mers kinda prefer hang out in more populated places closer to the uhh Big City i need to think a name of later, so !Cellbit never saw a mer (not like he doesn't believe they exist, he just never thought about ever seeing one). Partially its probably because if Richas isn't with him he is either in his cave (working) or not home at all (also working).

Tho, even when richas is with him, !cellbit doesn't like, stop working (he works much less, and actually often brings his son on some of the non-dangerous missions). However, that does mean that every time !richas is not also in a cave (drawing or something), he spend a bunch of time at that beach playing with other kids from around (he isn't completely unsupervised - !cell gave him an amulet that when activated will alert the parent and then release a captured there monster made of pure energy that will deal with danger on hand)

so basically, on one of these days, richas and bobby meet (he kinda wasn't supposed to be there - he was only really allowed be around more populated places. however, that didn't stop him from sneaking out and exploring). they eventually went on becoming a very good friends, even tho they couldn't really meet as often as they wanted (they also only really briefly mentioned eachother to their respective parents)

so, on one of these hang outs, richas decided to show the cave to bobby (he really wasn't supposed to do it considering it was a secret cave). and it was pretty easy to do - there was a very direct way through an underwater tunnel (so it was perfect for a mer and a water dragon) and !cellbit wasn't supposed to be in a cave that day (idk cleaning up the house or something like that). there's, however, was one thing richas didn't know - is that despite not looking like that, the water passage was also protected, probably even better than the main exit. so when the second bobby's was able to see the inside of the cave two snakeropes dragged him out of water and hanged him right above it, richas was pretty horrified. so, of course, the best decision was to ran to his dad and get help (he could deal with the consequences of letting a stranger into a secret cave later). the trap that !cellbit set up is supposed to give him a notis in case of activation, so, well, he was already on the way.

so, he sees some kid being hanged up, clearly distressed and also his own kid thankfully on a ground, being equally distressed. he's equally pissed off (why theres a stranger in this cave) and happy (the trap worked perfectly) and also relieved after deactivating the trap because that kid does seem okay and not hurt (tho bobby definitely took some offense to being caught in a trap). The serious talk can wait tho, because it seems like bobby lost something while being dangled up (by richas words, it seems like he had a hairband tied up on a hand (paw?). weird but ig it can't really fit on his head). considering that !cellbit already need to go underwater to disable the trap - it might go off again if he won't do it, he also decided to look for a hairband - it isn't supposed to be too far away.

last time i talked about the whole "mer that consider themselves "family" can basically send eachother signals". that is especially true for a danger situations - in that case the signal can be sent almost unintentionally. so, let's just say, !roier got his weekend interrupted the worst possible way. and the signal weakening while he was already on his way did not, in fact, made him any less stressed. and maybe that's the reason why he immediately threw himself on some unknown guy that was in some underwater cave that was holding his sons hairband. and maybe that's why !cellbit didn't even register being outside the water and that Chat was the only reason he didn't hit the shelves as he was thrown out of that water.

the kids (especially bobby) were alright and explanations were given (because that's probably the only thing that could help with the air almost cracking with tension for obvious reasons). and then there's some small talk and some talking about kids (because of course parents will bond over kids) and family and stuff and suddenly couple hours already passed and that guy who [wanted to kill you/you wanted to kill (funnily enough, it seems like both agree that that was pretty justified, even if it was mostly because of lack of information)] could possibly be considered a friend (or already more, because i need yall to know that mer au spiderbit are like. ultra fast burn. the only reason they dont get together for some time are some plot stuff lmao)

also, the cave layout: the exit door is protected both by password and magical protection; the shelves are full of different books (various encyclopaedias), boxes with various artifacts, amulets and all that stuff, papers with a lot of information related to cases !cellbit worked on; theres actually a lit of different plants and moss and all that on walls, and some of the moss actually glows (not enough light on itself tho); the cave was definitely used even before (the wall between desk and richas's "room" is obviously man made and theres a lot of traces of previous furniture.

it's time!! for another!! hoecat!! this time it's byakuren, bc i already mentioned her in my last post.

so, well, whatever sort of hair color(s) byaku's got, are obviously not real cat fur colors. so i went with the next best thing and grabbed a dilute tortoiseshell cat i had lying around with an appropriate personality

well then, the outfit. you can see there that i gave her a red scarf. these cats don't have capes (incredibly annoyed by that) so i replaced her cape with that. ...i could have skipped it bc she does often appear without the cape too and then has that green necklace thing instead, but honestly, i just. forgot she had that. lmao.

it's not like she would look bad with that either!! like, here's a screenshot from the sandbox:

she looks pretty damn cute like that too. but, i don't think i want to change it now, and i usually go with the original outfit of a character anyway

so, other notes on that outfit: mostly straightforward, i put a dark coat over some white glittersilk stuff (2 layers of that so it's more white than transparent, which is something i use quite a lot in my outfits), and black socks and also that black ribbon on the tail bc she's gotta have that sort of stuff somewhere.

now that rainbow smoke behind her, this time it's an official item unlike that stuff i put on junko. and it would be swirling around her instead of just being behind her if i didn't cover most of it with her clothes (sadly you can't put an item behind a cat so i did it like that, and you can still see a few pixels of it where the clothes couldn't cover her completely... but honestly you wouldn't notice that with the tiny size that these cats are usually, so who cares). so, well, can't do her scroll thing so she gets some other colorful thing. that works.

and finally, that butterfly there i added later actually. i was a little bothered by one of the colors from byaku's wonderful and pretty color scheme missing, and well, one of her spells involves butterflies, so i added that color into it with that. (tho that means she has more butterflies on her outfit than fuckin yuyuko now, which. is a little sad...)

now we can get to the other stuff abt that cat. personality's "gentle", self explanatory tbh. i'll pull up the description anyways:

also, this one has quite a lot of relationships with other cats. i think i'll mention those when i get to the other cats involved tho. one relationship that was Very interesting tho was her befriending... one of my octopath cats (which will of course happen when they're in the same village), that being. trousseau. of course uhh no one here knows that guy probably so i'll just say, (ot2 spoilers i guess if you care abt that) basically he's a fuckin weirdass traumatized apothecary dude who likes to poison ppl to. save them from the pain and suffering of existence. yeah he's not doing that well mentally. byaku could probably fix him. but that's fun

"Just jolted awake from deeply troubling yet oddly calm nightmare and i must share this abomination with you, so it started off with a spooky little island that was just a victorian house and rock (already sus) but under the house was a decepitcon slave mine where the Vehicons like shared the work with captured human slaves and G1 extra autobots (a bunch of no name background charaters) mining some shit (idk what) but then BAM! the dream jumps and I'm watching a small group of army dudes and a couple of autobot (Jazz, Prowl, Ratchet and it was either Prime or Ironhide tbh i said who and the nightmare said yes it could have been both) going to investigate the little island which is now super dark and spookily abandoned and they all go down into the mine and start seeing weird ass shit that looks like a meat bee nest (that disgusting rotten flesh hive I've seen float around social media) and then BAM HORRIBLE TRANSFORMERS/HUMAN/FLESH AMALGAMATION THATS LIKE 100% WORSE THEN ANYTHING RESIDENT EVIL, SILENT HILL OR DEAD SPACE COULD PUMP OUT and all the army humans get sucked in (cuz brain said fuck the canon fodder meat monster needs more meat) weird tentacles start dragging and melding with the poor nameless fools (like srsly they had no Business being there) and the autbots say FUCK THIS and run barely making it out and they lock that shit up faster then Blurr and take a fire lava baths to make sure they don't become some horrible fleshy nightmare horror monsters, que brain shoving in another time skip because dreams be like that, and some dumb ass human scientist person goes to the island and breaks into the mine (wearing a hazmat suit and a gas mask also dont ask i dont understand why they fine in just that its dream logic shit dont make any sense) and finds and a horrible optimus prime fusion meat mimic thing (but like its not the real OP like Daddy Optimus was safe) and the meat Optimus thing has become sentient and was somehow broke into pieces and was trying to rebuild its self slowly absorbing meat and forming it into a collective of different parts it remembered seeing (it was like meat optimus and several other autbots Frankenstein'd together) and so dumb ass cave diver science dude decides "I'm take it home and study it at my lab" and grabs the head which looks like a gross Meaty Optimus then i scene jump AGAIN to random Scientist dudes lab which it was a weird outdoor lab (no house in sight because brain didn't load anymore BG) in a giant tube science man had the mimic head and then he Proceeds to try to communicate with it, which seems to work (tho i couldn't hear what they were saying to each other) then the unholy flesh Optimus turns to face me where i was like floating watching everything go down passively the whole time being a third party watcher the this ungodly nightmare and it says in a SPOOKY FUCKING AMALGAMATED NIGHTMARE VOICE (WHICH I PHYSICALLY FUCKING HEARD!!)

Hi! Your fics have really opened my eyes to the potential drama of sailing/pirate fics when fantastical abilities are mixed realistic scenarios, like how scary a storm is, or how ships needed to careen. If I may ask, where did you learn the historical terminology and process of ye olde sailing? I would love to educate myself, but all the books I’ve tried to look up at my local library are out of print and circulation.

Funnily enough, I learned almost everything from the internet, except for the "pirate talk" stuff like expressions, I took a lot of these from AC Black Flag (like "what's biting you"), one or two from Pirates of the Carribean, and had noted all the expressions i didn't know from Treasure Planet, especially captain Amelia (thank you subtitles, this lady talks FAST) and then researched what each meant. I then completed with some internet pages, kinda cross-referencing and only using the expressions that had the same meaning from one page to the other

When it came to things like vocabulary and general pirate life, I found some really interesting youtube videos, some sites describing ships tasks, images with the names of every part of a ship. Again, I always compared the info I could find to make sure what I had wasn't an outlier. (I even abandoned a piece of info ince bc I couldn't re-find the place I had seen it and couldn't find a second source so I decided to just not use that info. Can't remember what it was though)

It took a long while though, I was writing chapter 15 and still looking up stuff, even had to go back at some point and change up the word "helm" because I had confused it with the quarterdeck and had been using the wrong word since like the beginning, very oops B) something similar happened with mast ladder vs jacob's ladder, I hadn't properly verified what a jacob's ladder was and used it wrong when i meant mast ladder.

I know that when it came to food, tasks, and what to do in a storm (where i learned that rule #1 of sailing with storms is Do Not Get In The Storm And Avoid It At All Costs so imagine my dramatic gasp when i listened to Epic the Musical when Ody decided to just Go™ head first in the storm MFNSKFJ) I found some really good documentary-styled youtube videos, there was a channel that loved to talk about the golden age of piracy and talk of the "mundane" stuff like food, ship functions, tasks, ship vocabulary (i think I made myself a drawing with arrows pointing at things and lists to have a reference later because I knew I wouldn't remember it until I saw the info consistently for at least a month KFNDJ) and it's been very informative!

And funnily some info (not a lot tho, mostly knowing the existence of bed holes in the hull, just sight stuff) was from a brief visit i did of an old boat during a trip years back. If an old historical ship has a thing on it, it's probably safe to assume more than one did amirite kcbdj or at least that the design is possible!

So the best I can really tell you especially if you don't have access to books (or museums like me, didn't have access to those rip and back then i lived somewhere i didnt have access to the library either) is to look into the internet and look at several sources if needed and really gauge out the info and make sure your source isn't an outlier. It can make the process longer (researched for months tbh and never truly stopped, if I wasn't sure, I was searching again or looking back at the refs I had saved) and it's a lot of "cross-reference" and all, but it's pretty fun!

luffy - aroace! he doesnt experience any romantic or sexual attraction, but he does make/laugh at sex jokes like a 12 year old boy would. he also doesnt really understand gender so he identifies as a man cuz thats what every one refers to him as but if you used any other pronouns with him he wouldnt correct you. when ivankov was talking about destroying gender norms he thought gender norms was like a really strong pirate tbh. or when bon clay said he was gay and bigender he thought that was like an ethnicity or some shit. if you came out to him he'd be like "oh really? im from dawn island wheres lesbian?"

zoro - unlabled! he has attraction to all genders but hes too lazy to figure out an exact gender its an "i might be bisexual but im too busy sword training to care" kind of thing, he doesnt really care for gender very much, hes amab and identifies as a man but if you used they/them on him he'd be fine. do NOT use she/her though he doesnt like that. hes also demisexual tho! (doesnt experience romantic or sexual attraction with out forming a strong emotional bond)

nami - a lesbian among lesbians. a women lover above all things. she doesnt try to hide it either. she doesnt really care for gender and is very happy with her identity as a women, but she also uses they/them sometimes when shes feeling silly

usopp - gay man. gay as hell. so fucking gay. him and nami are wlw mlm HOSTILITY. he uses all pronouns though, he couldnt really care less honestly

sanji - BISEXUAL. he had a talk w ivankov post time skip and kind of had internalized homophobia/transphobia and was like "all men get attracted to other men but that doesnt make you gay bro." and ivankov had to sit him down and bring the news to him like telling a child santa isnt real. he uses all pronouns.

chopper - likes other reindeer no matter the gender. ask him for his pronouns tho and he'd be like "oh im cis! if you are trans i can get you some testosterone or estrogen shots though!" good doctor

robin - bisexual, couldn't care less about the gender of her partner, she'd love them regardless. shes a trans women! chopper is always delicate with her estrogen shots and gives her fun bandaids in silly shapes and ALWAYS at the same time because one time she mentioned how before she joined the strawhats she would have to go without estrogen for long periods of time and when she did get to use it, it was rushed and she put it in at weird angles

franky - another trans bisexual, round of applause everyone! trans male, when he got hit by that train and started making himself a robot it was his OPPORTUNITY!!!!! his robot body automatically gives him t shots whenever hes due so he doesnt need choppers help until he needs to refill it.

brook - hes bisexual with a fem lean, no care for gender. hes one of those elder gay guys whos like "omg im so happy you get to do this now, we didnt have that when i was young"

jinbe - cishet but SUPER aggresive ally. one of those gay dads that wear rainbow socks around all the time and whenever he sees like pride merch he points to whichever crew member is next to him and is like "do we get this". the answer is always no. hes like a proud dad tbh. if someone said something homophobic around him he'd sit them down and educate them. alternatively if luffy hears someone say something about fishmen he'd just beat them up

man it's taken me like 8 months to watch arthdal 2 after it came out.... it's not like i didn't want to but tbh i was scared it would suck. I hadn't heard much about it either, but i guess that's bc it was on disney+ for some reason instead of netflix.

ANYWAY i watch it all last week and honestly it was lit. i thought about rewatching some of season 1 first, but i'm glad i didn't, there was a recap anyway and the 4 year wait helped me forget the actors that got replaced. well, not ALL......but i will say that lee joon gi did a great job. like, as a saya fan i did miss SJK ofc but if i'd got to choose his replacement it might've been lee joon gi! actually i felt so bad for saya this season, why is everything all about eunseom, he gets the girl, gets to be inaishingi AND aramun haesulla? .....dude leave some prophecy for the rest of us..... i'd be jealous too

and it's always a pleasure when my fave eum moon suk makes an appearance.... he was sooo good and MADE the 2 eps he was in

while i've never minded her as an actress (i know she gets some hate), unfortunately shin se kyung WAS kinda flat as tanya. as my season 1 fave, i was sooo glad we got more yangcha scenes and background this season! the new hair was dubious & i was sad to see the mask go after only one ep (bc hellooo his main appeal was how masked and silent and mysterious he was) but we do learn about WHY he was masked/couldn't talk (he was a child of shahati but tagon saved him!!), anyway ofc he switches loyalty from tagon to tanya bc he gets his emotions back bc of her and he loooves her. he also tries to die for her a couple times but thankfully survives the season. so tanya. girl. yangcha's right there, like eunseom who?? couldn't be me.

who knows if there'll be a season 3, i mean the setup is there (with saya sailing off somewhere with those neanthals and taelha raising an army + kid to take back arth from eumseom) but not sure the ratings were. if there's ever a S3 though, i'll watch it

tbh part of my recent depression is bc i can't even kind of afford to go to the ateez tour this year for several factors:

like i have money in savings, i could have bought tickets and just gradually put that money back in savings, but that's not what i should do.

tbh seeing people complaining about not being able to go to multiple stops had me about ready to say some real nasty things. like, i'm facing homelessness, that's why i can't go AT ALL, but i'm sooooo so sorry you couldn't go to your 3rd, 4th, 5th show lmao

idk i think KQ was kind of atrocious for this both on a consumer standpoint and re: the boy's health. i know they've said they'll advocate for themselves and they're big boys but sometimes human beings get caught up in the rush of it all and run themselves into the ground and i think it's on KQ to watch out for that even if the boys say they're fine.

also this very likely means we won't be getting any wanteez this year so fuck those of us that can't go to the tour i guess, we won't get our lil crumbs until the end of the year MAYBE.

that being said if someone wants to get me a ticket to the glendale (aug 12th) show i'll go by myself and kiss you passionately from a distance idgaf, i just want something to look forward to for when this house shit is done in june.

whatever, i could go on and on about the predatory use of fomo in the industry and the preying on impulsive financial decisions but i'd like to think most mature adults in the space are aware and either don't care or keep an eye on it; i don't really judge either way. it's just really starting to irk me that KQ seems to be getting just as bad as everyone else (if not arguably worse in some instances.) it's a little disappointing given what their story line is and where they came from, but that's corporations baybeeee.
